To celebrate Veteran's Day this year, we sent home a letter with all students asking for the name and address of any relative or friend they know that is currently serving, or has served, for any branch of the military. Parents also sent in photos of the soldiers, which we hung on a bulletin board near the entrance of the school. Students practiced letter writing by producing a thank you note for these soldiers. We mailed the letters, and many of the soldiers have written back. We also hung a sampling of the letters on our bulletin board (see below).
