Jake Drake Know-It-All by Andrew Clements

Right now I'm reading Jake Drake with a group of third grade boys and girls during their lunchtime. We get together once a week to discuss the book. I assign the pages they have to read while we're apart, and they beg to read quicker!

We all are loving Jake Drake Know-It-All because it is so funny! One student loved the part where the author compared the very tall principal wearing a green suit to a stalk of celery. Another student loved the part where the computer guy held the sign upside down. This book is just full of parts where you actually laugh out loud. One student said her dad looked at her weird because she just busted out laughing!

The other thing we really like about this book is that we can relate to how Jake feels. We have all known a know-it-all. We haven't gotten far enough yet to see how Jake becomes the know-it-all, but we're sure it's coming!
