GCIRA Banquet May 2015

GCIRA celebrated the Distinguished Teachers of Reading and Administrators of Reading for Greenville County earlier this month.  The banquet was held at the Hartness Pavilion at Furman, which is such a beautiful place to be!

We celebrated with a delicious dinner, guest speaker Paul Thomas from Furman University, and an award ceremony.  We congratulate Administrator of Reading nominees Christine Phillips, principal of Welcome Elementary, and Dr. Adrienne Davenport, principal of Bryson Middle School.  We also congratulate Greenville's Administrator of Reading winner, and the state's runner up, Virginia Burrows principal of Legacy Charter Elementary School.

Many Distinguished Teacher of Reading nominees attended the banquet, and were rewarded with a certificate and gift.

The top winners this year include a tie for third place, Alexis Moore from Monarch Elementary (not pictured because she was home with her newborn), and Deedie Padilla from Paris Elementary.  Second place winner is Angela Adams from Berea Elementary.  First place winner, and the person who will represent Greenville County for the 2015-16 school year, Katie Saunders from Bethel Elementary!
