On May 24, 2013, Brook Glenn honored the creativity of our world by sponsoring Science Fun Day. This special day consisted of many different activities, including various members of the community showing off their scientific talents. Students attended a 45 minute science exploration about how air pressure affects objects in our environment, taught by Jennifer Romatelli from Roper Mountain Science Center. This interactive science session included crushing cans with air pressure, using one breath to fill up a giant balloon, blowing objects, and more. All of this because of air pressure!
Brook Glenn has to give a special thanks to the Eastside High School students who volunteered to lead science activities with our students for Science Fun Day. These high school students came fully prepared to interact with students on all grade levels, and show their science expertise by performing experiments that ranged from erupting volcanoes, to making a rainbow in a beaker, to making elephant toothpaste.
Science Fun Day would not have been complete without the teachers providing their own science experiments with their students. Many grade levels bonded during this fun day, sharing science knowledge with each other.
Thank you to everyone who made Science Fun Day an unforgettable experience for all students at Brook Glenn!
