I finally tried nearpod.com for myself. I have a colleague that showed me this tool some time ago, but never sat down and explored myself until recently. After given the task of providing my staff with the very boring testing information, I looked for a way to make it more exciting. Nearpod to the rescue! I was able to sign in through my google account (which was beyond simple), and embed activities such as drawing and quizzes into my presentation. See my presentation below, which includes embedded formative assessments, which kept my audience fully engaged throughout the entire (very boring) information session.
The coolest thing about nearpod is that you can share student responses with the group. I loved sharing the open-ended question responses with my staff, and the results of our poll.
