For our technology training last week, I had staff members sign up for blabberize.com. Each group received a different nursery rhyme with an emotion written in the corner. Each group was to find a picture that went along with their nursery rhyme, then create the mouth, and finally record their nursery rhyme. We played the recording for the staff, and we tried to figure out the emotion the nursery rhyme was portraying.
As a whole group, we brainstormed different ways blabberize could be used in the classroom. Some examples were to use a historical figure to give information, a book character giving a book talk, or the teacher reciting the directions.
Each grade level then explored the common core state standards, and decided on a few standards that could be used in conjunction with a blabberize. For example, main idea and details could very easily be portrayed through a blabberize.
Blabberize.com is an easy way to get students using technology in new and creative ways! Here's the one I created (it took me about 5 minutes). Have fun playing around!
