What I'm reading now- Syndrome by Thomas Hoover

Syndrome by Thomas Hoover is quickly becoming one of my favorite books.  This novel is jam packed with scientific information on stem cell research that is easy to understand and follow.  The basis of the story is that Alexa Hampton is drawn into a research facility by her blacksheep brother and his eccentric, very rich boss.  Alexa hopes to help cure her mother’s early onset of Alzheimer’s and her own debilitating heart condition.  Along the way, she reunites with an ex that is currently writing the book on stem cell research, with this facility as his basis, but he can’t get the exact information he’s looking for without Alexa, and the twist is that one of the main people in charge of the research is his blood relative!  I won’t ruin the story for you.  I highly suggest picking up this book.  Quite stimulating.
